Phoenixian Guard
Overview
The Phoenixian Guard is an elite military organization within the Bravos Faction. Members have received “the gift of the Phoenix,” granting them the ability to control the element of fire. Beyond their martial role, the Guard serves as the secret keepers of Rune’s Testament.
The Gift of the Phoenix
Members of the Phoenixian Guard possess fire-based abilities that distinguish them from other Bravos warriors. Their blades can take on crimson gleam, leaving red trails like glowing ribbons during combat. The Guard includes specialists such as Blade Dancers who combine precise swordsmanship with dance-like movements.
Keepers of Rune’s Testament
The Phoenixian Guard has preserved Rune’s Testament across generations—secret instructions left by the first Kuningas revealing the true purpose of exploration. They have always known that the Source of The Tumult was a mirage, and that the real mission was to sail westward and rekindle the Phoenix.
Guard members bear golden tracings on their skin—patterns identical to the archaic script carved throughout the City of Scholars. These markings identify them as Testament stewards.
The Phoenix Egg Operation (393 AC)
The Guard orchestrated the theft of the Phoenix Egg from Haven and its transport aboard The Wayfarer. Bravos loyal to the Testament secretly joined the Tisdhera Clan to carry the sacred artifact westward toward the Phoenix’s nest.
When Waru Toowoom discovered Rune’s scroll in the City of Scholars, Sitina—a Phoenixian Blade Dancer—revealed the Testament’s existence. She declared: “The Firebird must be rekindled, reborn. Only then can the world rise from its ashes. So he spoke, at the dawn of a new age. Such is the mission entrusted to us.”
