The Wayfarer

Overview

The Wayfarer is a Sahanka serving as home to the Tisdhera Clan, one of the nine Lyra Sarabands. The floating city resembles a giant circus or theme park suspended in the sky.

Architecture

The Wayfarer presents a chaotic jumble of mismatched shacks and colorful roofs. Helium balloons of various shapes and sizes drift from the structure, including a giant clown face, a blue whale, and ridiculous chicks. At the top of the floating city sits a cluster of mobiles and orreries, crowned with a crescent moon that appears gilded in gold leaf. Tents dot the structure, contributing to its carnival-like appearance.

Transportation

Gondolas resembling wicker baskets descend from The Wayfarer on ropes, allowing passengers and goods to travel between the Sahanka and locations below.

Artistic Specialty

The Tisdhera Clan aboard The Wayfarer is known for painters, clowns, tragicomic skits, tightrope acts, goofy scenes, and sleight-of-hand shows. Painters splatter the world with wild pigments during their performances.

Role in the Rediscovery Endeavor

393 AC - Arrival at The Screed

The Wayfarer followed a brief opening in The Tumult from the southeast to join the Rediscovery Endeavor at The Screed. The Sahanka positioned itself near The Ouroboros, and the two cities exchanged signals of light before gondolas descended from The Wayfarer to the encampment.

Secret Mission: Phoenix Egg Transport

The Wayfarer serves as the transport vessel for the Phoenix Egg, stolen from Haven as part of Rune’s Testament. Bravos loyal to the Testament secretly joined the Tisdhera Clan aboard the Sahanka, carrying the sacred artifact westward toward the Phoenix’s nest.

According to the Testament, the egg must reach the west so the Phoenix can be rekindled and reborn. The Phoenixian Guard orchestrated this covert operation, using The Wayfarer’s cover as a Lyra entertainment vessel to mask the true nature of its cargo.

Sitina, a Phoenixian Guard Blade Dancer, revealed this arrangement in 393 AC to Waru Toowoom and Kojo Oduro after they discovered Rune’s scroll in the City of Scholars.
