Suddran

Overview

Suddran was aging swordsman at Ugetsu-Fenshen monastery who served as mentor to Gericht vaan-Bracht. He subjected young orphan to monastic life of extreme rigor for four years before declaring him ready to become disciple. He was killed during The Magan’s attack on monastery in 74 AC.

Role at Ugetsu-Fenshen (60-74 AC)

When Gericht vaan-Bracht’s parents perished in Tumult singularity in 60 AC, five-year-old Gericht was entrusted to Suddran at Ugetsu-Fenshen school on edge of Vindmark, eastern frontier of Caer Eidos. Suddran was determined to harden young orphan at any cost through monastic life of extreme rigor and endless labor.

After four years under this regime, Suddran declared Gericht ready to become disciple (64 AC). Training transformed to strengthening body and mind, learning blade techniques, and dueling.

Death During Monastery Attack (74 AC)

In 74 AC, Magan contingent attacked Ugetsu-Fenshen after Walela refused Ayxas’s decree outlawing monastery. During battle, Suddran fell to his knees, speared from all sides. Gericht vaan-Bracht witnessed his old master’s death.
