Mistbreakers
Overview
Mistbreakers are large tonnage vessels used for maritime transport in Asgartha, particularly for shipping ores from Suspira to Arkaster.
Development
The inauguration of the Sundström Route through the Undersea enabled capital shipowners to charter much larger tonnage vessels than previously possible. These vessels became known as mistbreakers, named for their ability to navigate the perpetually misty waters of the Undersea.
Function
Mistbreakers are primarily used for transporting Kelon and Aerolithe from Suspira’s mines to the capital. Their larger cargo capacity made ore transport significantly more efficient compared to the smaller vessels that previously navigated the difficult Shawl passage.
