Overview

Skaði is a goddess Eidolon associated with winter, skiing, and mountains. She can be summoned by multiple Alterers including Sierra and Kojo Oduro, serving various functions from emergency rescue to alpine training.

Appearance

Skaði has a long braid of blonde hair. She moves with ethereal grace, particularly when skiing, where she performs aerial acrobatics with expert nonchalance. Her hair streams in the wind during flight.

Skiing Mastery

Skaði demonstrates extraordinary skiing ability, gliding effortlessly and naturally through mountainous terrain. She performs acrobatic maneuvers while skiing that appear impossible to less experienced practitioners, executing graceful aerial ballet. She can ski backward without paying attention to obstacles, treating mountain descents with casual expertise that surpasses even skilled movement specialists.

Aerial Transport

Skaði catches falling individuals mid-air, providing emergency aerial extraction. She can manifest quickly enough to intercept falling summoners before impact and carry passengers to safety through flight.

Technical Equipment

Skaði possesses specialized technical boots with multiple hidden features:

• Adaptive fit that expands in length and width to envelope the foot like a stocking
• Ankle knob that activates various modes with red flashing indicator
• Retractable mountaineering crampons (spurs) from under the sole
• Blade-shaped flame that shoots from a ridge in the middle of the sole, functioning as an ice skate

Usage in Field Operations

393 AC - Tsunami Escape with Sierra

When tsunami from Storvhit crested ridge behind Sierra, she summoned Skaði mid-leap from vantage point. The goddess caught her with hair streaming in wind and carried her down snow-covered foothills toward armored vehicle at base. Sierra dismissed Skaði after reaching lower elevation to employ different abilities.

~393 AC - Skiing Training with Kojo

Skaði trained Kojo Oduro in skiing at Storvhit, demonstrating moves while he struggled to keep up during descent through fir trees. She laughed and gave thumbs up when he avoided crashes, patiently waited after he fell into snowdrifts, and teased him about his technique. The training session included demonstration of her technical boots’ features after Kojo was caught examining her equipment.

Name Origin

Name “Skaði” derives from Norse mythology where Skaði is jötunn (giant) and goddess associated with bowhunting, skiing, winter, and mountains.
