Nutsuwa Highlands

Overview

The Nutsuwa Highlands are tranquil and serene expanses within Caer Kettria. They are separated from the Arami Lowlands by a rift nicknamed the “Scar.”

The Scar

Legends say that the Scar was created by a sword stroke from Rune wielding Excalibur when he slew the Tumult Singularity that unfolded in this place.

Atmosphere

Beyond the Scar, the Highlands are a poetic place with a cottony atmosphere, perpetually bathed in a melancholic bluish glow. The territory appears constantly illuminated by moonlight, and all sounds seem muffled.

Flora

The Nutsuwa Highlands contain distinctive vegetation including giant flower forests of poisonous beauty, seas of pampas grass swaying their fluffy stems, and forests of pallid trees with ghost-white trunks beneath canopies of blue and luminescent foliage. The trees constantly emit a fluffy pollen that falls like snow.

Lakes

The lakes are peaceful-looking, surrounded by beaches of fine white sand.

Inhabitants

Within this peaceful setting, numerous silent creatures can be found: ghostly and semi-translucent beings that roam the area like half-incarnated specters.

Veil Porousness

The Nutsuwa Highlands differ from other regions of Asgartha in the porousness of The Veil separating reality from the realm of imagination. Strange phenomena occur here, bathed in the bluish hue that colors even the underwood air: Aether singularities, ghostly apparitions, and oddities of all kinds. Many Yzmir settled in the region, far from The Kadigir, to study the permeability of the boundary between worlds and its effects on nature. New species tinged by imagination emerge in the Highlands.

Settlements

Lumber villages exist deep in the heart of the blue forest, including one roughly halfway between Kestia and Amorgand where Moyo Chibuye was born. Tsunoo is a settlement where Yzmir mages are stationed.
