The Reka

Overview

The Reka are a human civilization inhabiting the city of Asty, a megalopolis built upon a floating island and a world-tree at the center of The Whiplash’s eye. They are the source of the pillar of light that guided the Expeditionary Corps across The Turmoil. Upon first contact with the Asgarthan fleet in 393 AC, the Reka addressed the arrivals as “lost sons and daughters of humanity,” indicating awareness of a shared human heritage.

First Contact

When the Expeditionary Corps emerged into the Whiplash’s eye, Reka vessels immediately responded. One craft boarded the Exalts’ skiff while another moved to intercept the Leviathan Halua. Warships formed a defensive barrier between the Asgarthan fleet and Asty. After a tense standoff during which Admiral Temera Singh ordered weapons armed, a Reka representative broadcast a welcome message. The message was spoken in an unfamiliar language and translated aboard The Ouroboros by a Horomancer using Irises.

Military Capabilities

The Reka possess a fleet of flying vessels including craft resembling frigates and destroyers. Their technology appears equal to or potentially beyond Asgarthan capabilities based on Admiral Singh’s initial assessment.
