Sunniva Vaccarezza, known as Sunn, is a Bravos Pathfinder trainee who serves as a scout for Atsadi. She achieved top rankings in multiple training areas including reconnaissance, orientation, and survival, earning recognition as the instructors’ favored student. She grew up in a tiny village near Kandu Range and joined the Rediscovery Endeavor motivated by desire to see the world beyond her childhood home. Following a leg injury sustained during a Belisenki attack at Storhvit, she was reassigned to escort Axiom mining expeditions in the Cloud Realm.

Childhood and Motivation
Sunniva spent her entire childhood in a tiny village near Kandu Range, which she described as the most boring place imaginable. When asked about her reasons for joining the Rediscovery Endeavor, she stated she wanted to see the world, acknowledging this motivation lacked nobility compared to other recruits’ reasons.
Training at The Chasm
Sunniva excelled in pathfinding training and achieved top-ranked status in several areas of expertise. The instructors considered her their favored student due to her consistent high performance. During a climbing exercise at The Chasm in 389 AC alongside Kojo Oduro, Sunniva had previously reached almost three-quarters of the way through the canyon’s mechanisms on a past attempt, while Kojo had only managed one-third.
Expeditionary Corps Service
Sunniva served as scout for Atsadi during Storhvit expeditions. Her role included reconnaissance, setting up camp, cooking, and other support tasks that allowed Exalts to conserve Mana for critical Alteration use. Scouts also wagered on which Exalts would reach objectives first; Sunniva was down two Florets but planned a comeback on the next expedition.

Sunniva and Kojo Oduro climbed The Chasm together, pausing to rest on a small ledge at the halfway point where she shared mint lollipops and sugared almonds. Above them, the canyon’s upper mechanisms required navigating obstacles where every wrong step could result in a fall, though Yzmir Sigils throughout the area slowed falls to prevent fatal drops.
393 AC, February - Storvhit Expedition
Sunniva’s group worked to build a high-altitude shelter stable enough for future explorers to use, an assignment she considered an improvement over a previous expedition where Lyra summoned hot springs from the ground that, while enjoyable, failed to meet objectives.
393 AC, February - Shared Camp with Yzmir Expedition
During the Storhvit expedition, Sunniva’s Bravos group under Atsadi encountered a rival Yzmir expedition led by Afanas Korovinovich, and harsh weather led both Alterers to agree on a shared camp for the night. At the campfire, Sunniva spoke with Ordis recruit Sunisa, noting the similarity of their names and exchanging backgrounds over shared snacks.
393 AC, February - Belisenki Attack at Storvhit
Belisenki triggered Yzmir alert wards around the camp perimeter, signaled by the sound of countless tiny bells, and when the swarm attacked the temperature dropped several degrees instantly as wind sent snow swirling through the air. Sunniva was struck and knocked to the ground while assisting a Yzmir mage, and as a Belisenki closed in, Sunisa slammed the creature away with her targe shield. Afanas Korovinovich then unleashed a massive Alteration shockwave that scattered the swarm but hurled Sunniva into the air; she crashed onto a frozen ledge, the ice beneath her gave way, and she plummeted into darkness.
393 AC, February - Hospital Recovery
Sunniva sustained a leg injury from the fall and recovered in a yurt hospital, where Sunisa visited multiple times, smuggling blueberry candy past the nurses. Before departing on her next assignment, Sunisa mentioned the Exalts needing all the backup they could get, a statement Sunniva read as meaning the expedition was not certain of returning.
393 AC, June-August - Reunion with Kojo at The Mess
After completing convalescence, Sunniva reunited with Kojo Oduro at The Mess, where the two caught up over Sap borscht with fried eggs and fondue. Sunniva described her Storhvit journey while Kojo shared his recent difficulties, and she admitted feeling jealous of his Exalt status.
393 AC, October-November - Cloud Realm Exploration
Following her recovery, Sunniva was reassigned to escort Axiom miners on prospecting expeditions through the Cloud Realm’s floating islands while she regained her strength, with occasional bird-tracking missions for Muna. She documented her experiences in a travel journal at Sunisa’s suggestion and encountered Kojo Oduro during one of his training sessions in the Illyrian Quadrant.
