The Concord was the founding treaty of Asgartha, proclaimed in Year 1 AC, which bound the scattered Tumult Nomad tribes into a single unified people. After long and perilous journeys across the transformed world, survivor communities from all corners of the globe converged on the same peninsula, responding to a mystical vision of a Firebird symbolizing rebirth.
The reunited tribes faced immediate difficulties: resource scarcity, population concentration, harsh environment, and the relentless Tumult threatened to tear apart the fragile gathering. Tensions escalated rapidly, with skirmishes becoming increasingly violent as various tribal leaders prepared to seize power by force. Civil war loomed on the horizon.
Rune, a fervent advocate of peace, worked in secret to prevent bloodshed. He built a coalition around the champion Heshkari, gathering sympathizers from all tribes who valued a common future over short-term power. Together with Caellach, Tamrat, Aksoy and Heeren, they formed a strong alliance to counter those planning a coup.
The opposition crystallized around three powerful Barons: Balram Kasun of the Tribe of the East, Cilistro Tighe of the Tribe of the West, and Ainara Aldana of the Tribe of the Lower Banks. When these warlords mobilized their forces on the meadow that would become Kuningasplatz, Heshkari’s coalition encircled them and demanded they lay down their arms for a peaceful solution.
As negotiations reached an impasse and violence seemed inevitable, the Firebird appeared. The Phoenix plunged from the heights of the Acus, spreading its flaming wings above the assembled forces. It perched not on any of the expected claimants, but on Rune’s shoulder, crowning him with a circle of fire that left an indelible mark on his brow. This unmistakable divine sign led all present—Heshkari first, then all others including the Barons—to bend the knee.
As the first Kuningas (High King), Rune proclaimed the Concord, the treaty through which all tribes agreed to become one people, converging like rivers into a single stream. He established the Trusted Council, appointing not only his allies but also the former Barons, ensuring he led all survivors rather than just a faction. These advisors became the legendary Runic Knights.
Simultaneously, Rune founded the nation of Asgartha, naming their new homeland. This founding date became the first year of the Asgarthan calendar, with the abbreviation AC (Anno Concordiae—“Year of the Concord”) chosen to honor the treaty that made civilization possible. The Concord became the foundation of Asgarthan society: a non-aggression pact and commitment to cooperation for the common good.
